The singer, Jhene felt extremely troubled when her brother Miyagi died from the brain tumor at the age of twenty-six in July 2012. She dedicated to him the track “For My Brother” before his death.
Jhene Aiko had an affair with B2K songster Omarion‘s brother O’Ryan from the year 2005 to 2008. The pair had a daughter named as Namiko Love. Namiko is raised single-handedly by Jhene. She withdrew her musical profession for a short while due to her daughter but again continued in 2011.

In 2003, she tried to perform her first musical album named My Name is Jhene by Sony, The Ultimate Group, and Epic. Nevertheless, due to some changes in Epic Music. Hence, she left Epic to chase her education. After completing her studies, she again refunded to songs in 2011 by releasing her debut mixtape which included artists under the likes of Drake, Kayne West, and Miguel.
In November 2013, she released her debut EP “Sail Out”. The song was great and reached the No.1 spot on the R&B chart. Following year, she joined rapper Big Sean for a partnership album titled as “Twenty88”.
In 2016, she released her single “Maniac” from her new forthcoming album which was released in 2017. She proclaimed that she had functioned hard from the last few years on her new mission scheduled to release in 2017. The approaching album will feature a new category of music this time, very diverse from its forerunners’ styles.
Her single “The Worst” was some of her best tracks as the song was certified as platinum by Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and also won BET Awards’ Centric Award. In February 2015, she was nominated for the Grammy Awards in three Categories.
